The duration of the academic PTE test is three hours and is done by computer in one day; but the IELTS test is usually held within two days.
Getting a high score on this test is relatively easier than IELTS because the scoring criteria for this test are very neutral.

The PTE Academic Exam is a fair test that assesses practical English. In this test, 71 questions are presented in 21 different formats and in 4 sections.

The computerized PTE scoring system follows a complex algorithm and evaluates individuals equally. In the human scoring system, however, personal and fanatical opinions based on the appearance, body language, and facial expressions of test participants may influence test results.

The reading texts for the PTE Academic Test are relatively short (usually 100 to 300 words) for each IELTS test, and each question is accompanied by its own text, making the reading section less misleading and challenging.

The listening part of the two tests is similar, except that in the PTE Academic test, participants use headphones, so they hear audio files better, the sound is not echoed, and nothing distracts them.

No human factor is involved in the academic PTE test, so there is no human error in evaluating and scoring this test.

The questions of the writing section of the academic PTE exam are general questions and are frequently repeated in various exams.

If you have a score of 5.5 or 6 on the IELTS test, it is very likely that you will get a higher equivalent score on the PTE test with proper practice and training. In other words, getting a high score on the academic PTE test is easier than getting a high score on the IELTS test.

PTE scoring is fully automatic and in the range of 10-90; while in IELTS it is manual and the range of scores is between 0-9. The IELTS results report form will be sent 13 days after the test, while the PTE academic test will be available online 5 working days after the test.

due to the relatively short history of PTE compared to IELTS, it is relatively difficult to find experienced instructors for this test.

If you have a short time to prepare, you should not do both tests. In fact, both tests have their own difficulty, and in fact, if you need to learn very quickly, the pairs of tests are the same. IELTS is simpler because it has fewer questions and PTE is convenient because it has a good practical website.

We hope you find the IELTS and PTE test comparison article useful.

TOEFL test, which stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language, is one of the most valid tests in the world, which is recognized in almost all countries of the world, and if the test scores acceptable, applicants can use it for their goals such as job migration or academic applications.

The TOEFL test score is accredited in almost nine thousand universities worldwide and this feature has made TOEFL one of the most prestigious tests. This old and valid test, which is considered as a criterion for measuring the level of English language of people, has different types and is held in various forms. In this article, we want to introduce you to the types of TOEFL tests, so stay tuned for the rest of this article.

Types of TOEFL tests:

TOEFL Internet test TOEFL ibt

TOEFL Written Test TOEFL Pbt

TOEFL Computer Test TOEFL Cbt

Paper TOEFL Test (PBT)

The written or paper-based TOEFL test has 4 sections. The score of this test is 310 to 677, which is the scores of the speaking, reading and listening sections. In this test, the questions are provided to the candidate in the form of a booklet. In this type of test, the score of the written part is calculated separately. Most universities in the world consider the 550 score to be low. This test is held 6 times a year in different countries.

Listening

The audio part, which includes 50 questions, is presented in three parts. Design listening questions based on:

Part 1: Conversation between two people

Part II: A broader conversation between two or more people

Part 3: An academic lecture on a scientific topic

The time to answer the questions in this section is 35 minutes.

Structure and Written Expression

The questions in this section are asked in two ways:

In the first set of questions, the candidate must recognize the correct structure and order of the words. These questions are made up of one sentence with one or more blanks, and the candidate must choose the option that best completes the sentence.

In the second group of questions, complete sentences are presented, under which four sections are underlined. The candidate must specify the wrong part. The questions in this section will be a total of 40 questions that the applicant has 25 minutes to answer.

Reading

In this part of the test, the level of comprehension of English texts as well as the extent of students’ vocabulary are evaluated. In this section, 5 specialized texts with scientific and academic topics have been stated and 10 questions have been asked for each text, and applicants have 55 minutes to answer the questions. The answers to all the questions are in the text and you do not need to have a mental background to answer the questions.

Writing

In this part of the test, a topic is discussed and applicants have 30 minutes to write an essay on that topic.

The TOEFL test score is between 310 and 677 and is obtained from the sum of the scores of the listening, comprehension, and structure sections. The score of the listening and structure sections is defined in the range of 31-38 and the score of the comprehension section is defined in the range of 31-37. The writing section score is not included in the applicant’s total score, but is counted separately.

CBT Computer TOEFL Test

The computer-based TOEFL test is very similar to the written TOEFL test, except that it is held behind a computer. This test is not held in Iran. The questions of this exam are comparative. This means that if the answer to the first question is given incorrectly, the next question will be simpler and scoreless. The written part must be typed. The maximum TOEFL computer score is 300, so a score of 250 is equivalent to 600 written exams.

Internet TOEFL (iBT) As you have read in previous articles, the most common method of conducting the TOEFL test in previous years was computer-based TOEFL. However, with the development and spread of the Internet in TOEFL test centers, the ground was prepared for holding the test online. Other countries that do not have internet access hold the test on paper. The TOEFL Internet (iBT) test is held 30 to 40 times a year in various countries. The time of this test is 4 hours and it is held in 4 sections. Each of the Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing skills is assessed in the TOEFL test, and the score of each skill is between 0 and 30, and in total between 0 and 120.

There are four scoring factors in speaking, each of which affects the final score by an equal amount (a quarter or twenty-five percent).

According to the speaking band descriptor table, the examiner gives each of the above four factors a score between 1 and 9 (technically and linguistically, it is very unlikely that the distance between these factors will be more than two points: Take five, but get a score of seven or eight in pronunciation (.

The important point is that according to the speaking band descriptor, after the examiner scores, the score does not round up mathematically and upwards (like the oral score). It rolls downwards!

Note: Be sure to work hard on your weakest factors and improve them, because it is not possible to cover the extreme weakness of grammar with, for example, a sharp increase in lexical knowledge.

Introducing scoring factors in speaking

1) Fluency and Coherence, (no excessive pause, unnecessary repetition)

2) Lexical resource or vocabulary, correct and appropriate words and high level (high score of seven is only for those who use high level words related to the subject: collocations, idioms and words that are not used but related to the subject)

3) Grammatical Range and accuracy or grammatical structures and correct use of sentences, correct grammar and high-level score above seven is only for those who use complex grammar fluently and extensively and naturally: dependent clauses, types of conditions,

4) Pronunciation (Note that pronunciation has nothing to do with British or American ل accents, but rather “stress”, “intonation” and “chancing”).

Note: In general, unlike writing, “how to say” is more important in speaking than “what”.

According to the descriptor table, the examiner gives each of the above four factors a score between 1 and 9 (technically and linguistically, it is very unlikely that the distance between these factors will be more than two points: for example, someone in fluent Take five but get a score of seven or eight in pronunciation)

The important point is that according to the speaking band descriptor, after the examiner scores, the score does not round up mathematically and upwards (like the oral score).

Rather, it turns down!

For example, if you get 7 in three factors but in one factor 6, then your score will be 6.5 and not 7!

Lesson for you: Be sure and seriously work on your weakest factors and improve them: You cannot cover the extreme weakness of grammar with, for example, a sharp increase in lexical knowledge.

If you are looking to learn a language and take language tests, you must have heard of Duolingo. Or maybe you have installed the application on your smartphone and practice the language with it every day. In this article, we are going to teach you the Dolingo test and its features. Stay with us until the end of this article.

What is the Dolingo Test?

Duolingo Duet or DET stands for Duolingo English Test as an online English test. This test became more popular in the Corona era because it is an online language test. Like the Taql and Computer IELTS tests, Dolingo tests the four skills of Reading, Listening, Speaking, and Writing. The interesting thing about this test is that the questions in this test are based on Adaptive Adaptation technology, which means that the difficulty of the questions is determined based on the candidate’s ability. One of the things that made this test popular is its low cost and fast measurement without the need to attend Duolingo test centers. If you use this test to get admission to American universities, you can take this test twice in each 30-day course.

What does it mean for the Dolingo test to be adaptive?

The adaptability of the Dolingo test means that your next question is determined by how well you performed in the previous questions. So, if you answer the initial questions correctly, your next questions will be harder, and if you answer the question incorrectly, your next questions will be easier until you can answer them correctly again. This process will continue until the end of the test.

DUOLINGO test rules and regulations

Since you take this test at home and Duolingo must make sure that you do not cheat on this test, it has many rules that we will discuss below.

Using plug-ins or add-ons such as Grammarly in the browser is not allowed.

You can only use one email address or Dolingo account to perform the test, and if you have a second account, it will be blocked.

Keep eye contact with the computer screen. If you need to look at the keyboard to type, do not worry; Because test monitors and automated systems know the difference between a simple look at typing and staying focused on a computer screen while typing, looking at a keyboard to type will not affect your decision to test.

You can take this test twice in a month, which means that if you have a problem for any reason, such as technical problems with the Internet, you will have another chance in the same month.

The use of iPads, tablets and other smart devices is not allowed to perform the Dolingo test.

The use of headphones and ear pods is prohibited.

You are not allowed to use your phone or mobile phone.

Your test will be cancelled if you talk on the phone or take notes while taking the test.

Do not leave the test page in your web browser for any reason.
