The main differences between PTE and IELTS

The duration of the academic PTE test is three hours and is done by computer in one day; but the IELTS test is usually held within two days. Getting a high score on this test is relatively easier than IELTS because the scoring criteria for this test are very neutral.

The PTE Academic Exam is a fair test that assesses practical English. In this test, 71 questions are presented in 21 different formats and in 4 sections.

The computerized PTE scoring system follows a complex algorithm and evaluates individuals equally. In the human scoring system, however, personal and fanatical opinions based on the appearance, body language, and facial expressions of test participants may influence test results.

The reading texts for the PTE Academic Test are relatively short (usually 100 to 300 words) for each IELTS test, and each question is accompanied by its own text, making the reading section less misleading and challenging.

The listening part of the two tests is similar, except that in the PTE Academic test, participants use headphones, so they hear audio files better, the sound is not echoed, and nothing distracts them.

No human factor is involved in the academic PTE test, so there is no human error in evaluating and scoring this test.

The questions of the writing section of the academic PTE exam are general questions and are frequently repeated in various exams.

If you have a score of 5.5 or 6 on the IELTS test, it is very likely that you will get a higher equivalent score on the PTE test with proper practice and training. In other words, getting a high score on the academic PTE test is easier than getting a high score on the IELTS test.

PTE scoring is fully automatic and in the range of 10-90; while in IELTS it is manual and the range of scores is between 0-9. The IELTS results report form will be sent 13 days after the test, while the PTE academic test will be available online 5 working days after the test.

due to the relatively short history of PTE compared to IELTS, it is relatively difficult to find experienced instructors for this test.

If you have a short time to prepare, you should not do both tests. In fact, both tests have their own difficulty, and in fact, if you need to learn very quickly, the pairs of tests are the same. IELTS is simpler because it has fewer questions and PTE is convenient because it has a good practical website.
